 Nil pointe!! I was holding the wrong rod decided quite late that despite the torrential rain yesterday that i would try the culm this eve(on opening day), if was too coloured go 10 min up road to kiaora instead daughter wanted to come with me( more as a how to get a late night and out of homework than fishing  )got there about 7 and started in first swim near bridge  just useing size 14 hooks, maggot and chubber float for daughter, I had a running ledger and 1/8oz bomb as thought less chance of tangles between rods , and could watch her more soon she was in with a gudgeon  which i was after as need for the hunt  , so i swapped rods and try as i might diddly/nadda/squit so after 10 min lets move swim moved and soon i was in at last with a good size roach  and although well chuffed as a good fish from here I had 1 of them this year so no points daughter was really getting hang of this casting now, but still wouldnt do the maggots  watched a bit of colourfull wildlife  then she does it again this time its a little chub( again a species I was after)  and that was it, time had beaten us , as is a school night for her a lovely chilled couple of hours, 1 happy daughter who rubbed it in for ages that she had more than me , so guess i'll be back( ON OWN!!!) soon for those poxy gudgeon and chub why is it impossible to outfish the kids!!  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |
