Walking and fishing in the Paris region - may 2009

A 5 day week-end in my native town, in the Val d'Oise near l'Isle-Adam, France.


A walk on the rivers of the Seine and the Saint-Martin Canal in Paris on wednesday:
















Thursday morning from 7 to 9 AM, I went to the hood I can see from home, where I start lure fishing 15 years ago.
First on the small lake of Les Sylphes, where I had not put a line for many years. Lots of grass, trees and waterlilies.
Exisiting species from what I knew: common perch, carp, roach.
Max. depth 1.5 m.





To try the perchs, I start with a X-80 (the crazy jerkbait). After a few shots, that's under the grass that I hook something... what a surprise it's a bass (never seen there).
During the following hour, nothing more and I finally I left because of the mosquitos...

Then on the difficult Petit Etang, on the second animation in an end of the lake that gave me my first pike 15 years ago... here comes a monster:



Notice the monster's size, 20 cm, comparing with the lure, a Pointer 100...

After that only some photos because it was already 9:00, by the bank day the coarse fishermen as well as the joggers are arriving (I've always made the good fishings by a perfect calmness).






Friday morning back again but at 9:30, on the Petit Etang.

Unfortunately too many people, lots of coarse fishermen. Including far from the rivers with dead bait, nothing.

Existing species: white fishes (brem, carp, roach...), zander, pike, perch, bass, catfish.
