At last

After weeks of holidays,family commitments,overseas visitors and the wife,I finally managed to get my rods wet today(Sat.30th.May).
Setting off,by most folks standards,late in the day,my rods were set up at around 9am.One Carp rod with running ledger,size 10 hook and home made boilie and my float rod with size 14 hook baited with double sweet corn.
The sun was shining birds were singing and I was at peace with the world.
A couple of knocks on the Carp gear,then silence.Then my float lifted out of the water and then disappeared into the depths,I struck into a fish that was obviously bigger than the Roach I expected,after a good 15 mins.a fine Common of just over 10lb.was on the bank.
Then just on 12 noon,the buzzer screamed off and a nice Common of just on 5lb.was landed.Home by 3pm.A very good day I think.

didn't manage the lake on the queensawy when i was down hastings at beginning of the month,m don't think mrs asp would've liked it lol
