Trips to Crockerton

I've made a few trips to Crockerton Lake, with out reporting, so here is a brief report.
May 14, popped down to see Banana Steve and Twiddler, took a rod with me and fished no 5, my standard tactic of float ledgering luncheon meat worked, with a nice tench, which is picture i the species hunt and Steve's report.
I made a trip last week with JP, who wanted to christen his new poachers rod, Greenheart was in no 7, I haeded around the lake to no 15, a favourite. JP had some nice Roach/Bream Hybrids, which made him a happy bunny. I missed a few bites beofre connecting with a very hard fighting 12 common, pictured below.

As she was with spawn, I did not bother to set up a decent phonto, other than a quick snap with mobile,then back she went.
I've not been back long today, having had a couple of hours cooling down after working under glass today.
I fished no 4, as I had not done so for some years.
First fish was a small Bream, as Banan Steve came by.
Second was one of several tench, the first being the largest about 3lb, I had four others, the smallest being 1lbish.
I had some cracking roach, the best is pictured below being returned.

Finally, I had a bite which I knew was no roach, and it out fought the tench too, turned out to be a pure ghost Koi, about 2 1/4 lb hard figher and a joy to land.

All on float ledgered luncheon meat. A mothod which works very well at Crockerton, I think due to the uneven nature of the lake bed, so dragging the line back to set the float means that you don't have to be super accurate in casting. I can also report that so far I have not had any deep hooked fish.
