early morning session

was going to spend yesterday on my local lake, but job interview & very urgent repairs to my car took priority, so i decided to go this morning for a few hours before family stuff this afternoon.
set my alarm for 5am & was on the lake & baiting my 1st rod up at 6am.
decided to fish off the wall of the main tilgate lake as i was told it'd been fishing well lately & as i only had a few hours available, i couldn't be bothered with the walk to the other lake & my prefered peg.
i decided to set up with method feeder & 8mm pellet hook bait to my carp rods & maggott to float, just for some variety.
cast out & started setting my other rod up, barely put it together & reel on when my rod had a take, i was suprised as it'd only been out for barely 2 minutes!
after a short fight, i could see it was looking like a decent size, so dropped my carp net in & landed a rather nice tench, unhooked, quick weigh sowed it at 5lb8oz, a new pb tench & pb fish! i lowered the sling into the water to release.

sorry not best pic, but was a bit awkward holdig the fish & taking pic at same time lol.
i set up my 3rd rod for float, fishing approx 18" & gave it a go for a while, this resulted in a rather nice perch, not particularly big, but biggest perch since restarting fishing. wind got up a bit too much to keep the float out, so gave up on that after about an hour.
unfortunately, i didn't have so much an another bite for the rest of my session, but a new pb more than makes up for that lol.
packed up & back home for 11, then all hands to the deck for the family stuff.

Re: early morning session

i've been out of a job since feb & got invite 2 interview invites within 1 day, but not going to build up any hopes ... can't get disappointed if i don't get it then. it went well thanks, my cv had what they were looking for & they seemed happy with things, so just down to how the other interviews went (hopefully a plus for me is that the depot manager & regional area manager are both keen anglers too).
next interview tuesday.
hope your son finds something soon.
i've got to the point where i'll have to sell my race car if i don't get anything soon lol.

Re: early morning session

well done on the pb asp.
Hope the angling brotherhood pulls through for you on the job front.
Always good to have a shared hobby for building team spirit.
Only downside would be if everyone at work wanted to go to the smut meet.
Good Luck

Re: early morning session

cheers guys, of both the pb & luck with job hunting.

i was very pleasantly suprised with a new pb.

there were 4 of us at my last job, with another 2 that got day licences & came along after work a few times.
it does give you something to chat about over a cuppa both monday mornings & friday afternoons lol.
would be nice if the "brothehood" does come through, but will mean less midweek fishing of course, but at least i'll have cash to go further afield on weekends & try other waters & upgrade kit as required lol.
