carper-chris is on a distinguished road
Reepham, Wednesday

I arrived at the lake around 9am to find it very busy(as usual). I tried to find a swim with some features but they have cut all the over hanging bushes down so it really is just a square pool now, anyway i found a small bed of reeds and decided to fish with the float near them for the crucians and have a carp rod out into the middle.

I had nothing for the first 2 hours but when the sun really came out they started feeding on top so i ditched the crucians and used my pole to freeline bread tight to the reeds with near instant results!

I had 8 carp off the top on the pole and what a great fight you get!

They switched off a couple of hours later so went back to the float and managed another 12 carp on cat food.

A good day out with brillant weather!

Re: Reepham, Wednesday

Its great to see the old lakes, thanks very much and well done on a good day out. I worked at Reepham when it was a Trout fishery and ornamental fish outlet from 1986 to 1988. Are those American Signal Grey Creyfish still causing havoc? When I worked there they would make it almost impossible to fish on the bottom.

Also, does the 'snake' lake still come off this lake? When I worked there there were also some smaller ponds including one with a bridge accross (I helped build that bridge), are they all still there?
