| More frustrations on the Stour. It's an interesting start to the year. Last weeked blanked on the stour thought I reckon that the feeder bites I was getting were from dace. A sort of pluck pluck pluck. Maggot was either scared to death or mashed (a la roach). Previous weekend caught what I at first thought was a small bream but looking back at it was probably a roach-bream hybrid. This has lead me to wonder if that big roach I caught the other week was a hybrid too. I took a much closer look at the fish two weeks ago. The general body shape was thickset and roachy. Fins looked like a roach. Mouth was definately breamy and the general look was "odd". So next time I'll take a piccy and post it so we can get a few more experienced eyes on it. Well looks like the two pound roach I thought I got wasn't and I am not claiming it unless I can prove it. Doh! As I'm off work with a head cold (male version) So that'll be four spare spools and a bulk spool of 4 and 6 lb line to load then. That and make some wire stem avons , made some dome top wire "big sticks" last weeked but didn't get round to using them. Bye , must get back in to my sick bed before the wife spots me. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
