| personal best pike @ broadlands hi all went down to broadland(romsey) yesterday in search of the toothy fellas. my plan was to try the leap frog method iv read about on hear b4 and give it a try. so i pulled up got bait and got to fishing on my first spot. with in 10 minutes fry was jumping every were and out came the head of a big pike. this carried on for 5 hour and worked out the was 3 pike around me so out went the idea of moveing if i had not had a bite with in 30 minutes. anyway after 5 hour it went quite and i was a little gutted to say the least as my live bait , my dead baits , my spinners and my spun dead baits just did not conect with any of the pike. so i started to get my gear into the ruck sack ready for a move and started to real in my first rod and WOLOP i was in at last and it was big. to make things worse it was on my very light rod(a feeder rod) after 15 minute fight it came to te net. it came in at just over 15lb, was by far a pb for me and i had a grin from ear to ear ![]() after another hour or so thing were very quite so i move to the next swim and the next one and the next one and just as i was about to move again the live bait went nuts and bang i was in to a very livley jack of about 5lb, bit of a hunch back ![]() while i was unhooking the the feller i turned round to release it and my other line was slack???? so i picked it up and struck into another jack of about 2lb ![]() after all that i decider id used all my luck and bait up and head home a very happy bunny cheers john __________________ http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...xt80382370.gif |

| Re: personal best pike @ broadlands Well done, its a great feeling when you realise that the beast on the end of yor line is a new PB, plus its a bit nerve racking, as the fear of loosing it kicks in. |
