Well i had thoughts about joining lee at Crockerton, until the notion of chasing after bertie the barbel on the free stretch at Chippenham, (peoples republic of) came up whilst in the pub last night.
Someone joined the forum a couple of weeks ago, from the west wilts area, but I cant remember who they were, would be nice to invite them along and show them some free fishing.
Well does anyone fancy joining us?

i think the member your after Matt is called The Beast from the wiltshire area and started a post called barbel help.
Think i will stick with crockerton as my little boy wants togo if its not too cold, its easier to look after him on the flat banks of a lake than on the river.

If the rivers out of sorts, the I may pop down. Can I suggest that you try swima 1-5 at this time of year, but Banana Steve will know more.

if you are fishing crockerton i would not fish peg 1 it is a bit shallow, i recommend pegs, 3, 4, 5,6,7, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 as these are the deep pegs.

I have had a few niec roach from the centre of the lake on waggler, about 2-3 feet deep, single maggie.

If the river is up, then I may be with you at the Croc, have you tried Berkley, I prefer it, being shallower, it fishes better in the cold, plus lots of wildies.

Yep fished it back oct time had a few wildies on feeder and my boy caught plenty of roach.
i'm open to suggestions plus berkley is closer just down the road for me
