two months left With only 2 months left in this year's species hunt I think it is time I made an effort to catch 2 of the missing fish on my list. I have not yet managed to get Gudgeon or Ruffe, so I think a foray to the canal is on the cards for next weekend. Anyone else interested in joining me, I am planning a Saturday morning session down where the BIG, easy to catch Ruffe live. __________________ Life is understood looking backwards, but it must be lived forwards.

Re: two months left it would be nice to find out about some of these waters. I like to fish different venues, not necessarily for big fish, I fish for pleasure. Free stretches and cheap day ticket spots that are fun to fish or offer something unusual are always on my list of wants. If you have details of some good spots then please PM then to me so I can give them a try. Thanks Mike __________________ Life is understood looking backwards, but it must be lived forwards.

I think the Ruffe in the Kennet & Avon Canal are just a rumour started by someone with a warped sense of humour... ![]() However ancient Somerset legends say that they once populated the river Brue. So Bananna Steve, Fullcreel & myself are setting off after the mythical beasts down there next weekend. Probably got more chance of finding the Holy Grail though.... Good luck with your Quest though Mike. __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey...

Re: two months left Ruffe? They used to be common on the Thames around the Kingston area but I haven't fished there for years. We had a few slipped in our lake accidentialy when we received a stocking of Perch a few years ago. plus I have caught the odd one on the Grand Union Canal near Watford. There are some Ruffe Slappers in Liverpool so I have heard __________________ My Web Site (The Average Coarse Angler) Happiness is Fish Shaped (It used to be woman shaped but the wifes getting on a bit now)
