| Todber Manor 28th of September Report Well I was awoken early on Sunday morning with a phone call from Crockerton Lake; this inspired me to get my arse out of bed. So with the problem sorted and a 30min drive to Todber I saw myself fishing by 8:00am on the first lake at white post. There was a mist that had laid itself over the valley as I arrived.  I decided to fish the Float with maggot as my main line of attack. The first Hour saw me catch a few roach up to 6ozs, then I hooked into a late summer Tench off 1lb.8ozs.  As the day progressed the mist became clearer and it even started to let the sun start to break through.  By 10:30 the sun had broken through and the fishing switched on big time with carp coming to maggot with ease and fish from 2lb to 3lb. I had some cracking fish and they all gave a good count off themselves, especially with using light gear.     At around 1pm I hooked into a tiny Crucian that could have been no more than 3-4ozs  What made this unique was that the following fish was a Crucian of 1lb 11ozs, not huge but a PB for me, I was well chuffed.  I left at 2pm, for some reason every man and his dog decided to fish “White Post” Well hopefully I shall be out next week on the canal. __________________ Born to fish made to work     |
