| Quick trip/s at caming site Bewdley. Had a few hours (on my own this time) while we were camping at Hopleys Farm (Bewdley). Yes I know the river Severn is just down the road and it is even free in parts but what the heck. It's on the site and I can catch a few hours as and when family camping allows. That and my appaling habit of buying beer and then instisting on drinking it thereby rendering me incapable of driving the two ton bullet anywhere . Hopleys has a lake , I reckon about half to three quarters of an acre. Mostl silver fish, some carp and some small tench. Decided to fish maggot, meat and corn . No hemp feed as this is not allowed. End result was an evening catching bits and a morning repeat with no action of meat but loads of small stuff showing on maggot. It was fun , though I was hoping the bigger fish would switch on, they didn't. This venue has just changed hands and I think it might become a little gem for those of us that like a bit of a fish while the family camps. I can only register my hope that the new owner sees his vision of a mixed silver fish lake wih some carp too as I think he knows that the local commerical competition is very string indeed (Furnace Mill is not far away ). One amusing aside was my Visit to Stan Lewis (no relation) in Bewdley. A classic old style crammed to the roof with stuff tackle shop and Stan was there too. If you want a laugh look at the best before date on the mountain of Luncheon meat tins. I won't spoil the fun , it makes a fun game for those who don't know just how out of sell by date you can sell stuff not for human consumption. For the record, if I didn't know how old it was I'd have eaten it, nothing smelt out of order. I guess canning is very effective. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |

| Ah, a man after my own heart. My missus is getting used to the fact that whenever & wherever we go camping, there's always water & fish nearby. What a coincidence... Nice report mate... __________________ Don't Judge My Path If You Haven't Walked My Journey... |

| Re: Quick trip/s at caming site Bewdley. Nice one Pete. I think I've seen that shop about 18 months ago. Is it the one right on the river, quite near the bridge?? It looked superb, but was sadly closed when I was last there. Ah well, next time. ![]() __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. Bait…… BAIT!
