Well you know when you've got bit with this angling bug when you get home, have a kip and decide you need to go again.

This time it was at the junction of the stourbridge arm and main arm of the staff worcester.

It wasn't really me fishing though as I took the girls and one of their friends who was staying the night. Two eight year olds and a six year old, not going to get much fishing in then.

I put a pole together and fed hemp and some caster.
Then it was three rods, three reels , three pots of maggots and away we go.

The girls all caught a couple of roach, dace , perch and gudgeon and had a great time doing so.

I kept sneaking loose feed in the pole line but was kept busy stopping the girls dropping my gear in the canal, unhooking fish (barbless hooks were not so popular when I was a lad, I love them now) and hooking maggots . It was worth it though.

Had a quick go on the caster/hemp line and had a couple of larger roach so cofirmed my suspicions as to how to sort the bigger fish out.

Again it was great just to be wetting a line and hopefully helping my kids see just why this daft sport of ours is so absorbing.

Fishing with three young girls... you're a braver bloke than me. I still have nightmares about taking my Daughter fishing when she was that age....

Yep , I'm going to by three cheap whips to stop my beloved shimano ZX winging it's way to Davey Jones (and I do have at least two relatives called David Jones, beleive it or not, but then again I am Welsh) locker.

Next trick is to teach them to hook maggots and unhook fish then it's daddy vs the girls matchs. I know, I'll loose.

Great that the youngsters enjoying themselves
