after last weks big stuff, river culm today

well after all the excitement last week, i wanted to do something completely different

so as got no work today it was off with the match rod , a pint of mixed maggot and a couple of floats to the river culm, too see what was about

as ever had the place to myself
the water was well up and coloured and even a 3ssg chubber was flying through

eventually i found some slacker water in a side eddy ( saw a trout jump in this swim as got there and again when leaving how frustrateing)and after a few freebies caught my first fish, this greedy little minnow

top job and 1.5 points

then a couple of microscopic roach then several of these which i am certain are chubblets( ickle chub) please let me know if anything different i' not great on all the small silver fish( if chub another 1.5)

only stayed for an hour and a half as struggling too much with flow
hope to get backsoon as long as no more rain with either ledger tactics or bigger float

lovely chilled morning and a pint on way home( well i had to find out where darts are tonight ) what could be better

How do you do it Dave. I shall have to earn loadsa brownie points before i'm allowed out again after the France trip... Not sure on that little silver fish. Could be a Dace....
