| Bellbrook Trout Fishery 22 August 2008 Sun breaking through this morning made me think it was time I dusted off my fly fishing gear for a few hours "fluff chucking". I drove down to Bellbrook which is located off the North Devon link road. It's a smashing fishery with 6 or 7 lakes in a valley. It's quite secluded and offers a range of tickets to suit almost anybody. Their website is www.bellbrookfishery.co.uk. I haven't been down for a long time and it's much improved. I bought a three fish "Rover" ticket for £25. It allowed me to try for two fish from the "normal" lakes and one from a specimen lake. I fished a black and green Montana nymph in size 12 on a floating line and took my limit in about two and a half hours. All fish came at a depth of three to four feet with quite a quick retrieve rate. Not stripping it back but faster than the usual figure of eight. The two from the "normal" lake went 2lb 4ozs and 2lb. The one from the specimen lake went 6lb 3ozs. All were weighed out on the fishery scales. I've included a fag packet in the picture to give an idea of the size.
