Some More Nature! THE REAL THING.

trust me to realise dad was logged in and not me AFTER writing this...

again i headed down to the nature reserve on a little scouting mission on my bike, bit of a bait up, and it was quiet, only my new friend simon was there, so i bimbled on down for a lazy afternoon.

and here is my chosen swim! (a few photos from midway into the session. and that isnt stones, thats rises. that is how frenzied this pond can get when conditions are right and you have casters and btw, that was when they had dropped off the feed. )

and it wasnt fishing this, it was catching. small 2 oz roach were the bulk of it, with some substantial roach and rudd (another 1.5!) in between.
so heres the best of my rudd

and heres dads

and simon my friend had a good day, filled with carp and tench on the other side of the pond, along with enough roach to satiate a reservoir full of pike's hunger for around a year.

so all in all, a good result. didnt expect the extra 1.5 but we welcome it all the same!

and just to emphasise how much surface action there was, after a catty pouch full of casters were fired onto the surface, the scene resembled that of a trout farm at feeding time. thats how overstocked this pond is! the pictures dont do it justice.

and if any of you are wondering, yes, dads rudd has no top lip. and no doubt it is the fire lighting drug taking hooligans who come down here with 20lb line 3 oz leads and 3lb test curve rods with size 4 hooks ripping their lips off literally. im going to go down and take picture of fire damage and litter etc tomorrow to go in my letter to the forestry comission.
