Cool My Holiday In't Lakes

well im back from my holidays, and ive decided im going to explode on the forums once more!

because having left school and found a job until i start college, im not as busy as i was a month or two ago!

so let me share my holiday experiences! ill start with the reports.

fished for two days on lake coniston, just a bit of fun and to get my little sisters involved in fishing from a young age (get em while theyre fresh!) so we took the telescopics and my 7 ft wychwood, a pint of maggots and a few floats

walked to the end of the boating jetty (rosie got quite upset because it was a restricted area, but me and dad explained that often that means "fish!" and if there are fish there and its safe and no-ones around, then no harm done)

and it was great fun! little perch ranging from 2 inches to half a pound kept our rod tips jiggling for hours on end. another great thing about the lakes is the purity of the water. you could actually see the shoal move in and chase the loose feed and hookbait even 6-7 feet down in the water so it was great fun.

select few fish photos from those sessions

as you can see, one species dominated the lake fishing. but im sure you will agree, as always from coniston, these fish are in absoloutely mint condition.

now onto the fishing that me and dad didnt get. as you an imagine, a lakeland holiday is full of walking. and lakeland walks go alongside many rivers and tarns, and MOUTH WATERING swims. the following swims are the ones that made me and dad regret our decision not to take the rod on a walk with us .

This swim and indeed the river itself was brimming with 3-8 oz brownies. literally.i spent 20 minutes watching them on a bridge to then realise everyone had got bored and walked off without me!

and here we have derwentwater. just one of the swims i photographed, but if you look carefully in the shot, you will see just how hard the rain was PELTING down on this hike, so i didnt take many more.

and the river running through Elterwater. the river continues like this and has many little tributaries and eddies and pools. grayling country? the coppermines looks similar too, just shallower.

and another thing.

£3.20 a pint.
