Fishing at old dalby Pond!

Went to a new lake for the first time ever with my dad and was greeted with bird singing in the trees and a lovely mist just rising off the water!
On the far wall, a few big carp were crusing around, not feeding, just patiently waiting for the midday sun to show so they can piss off every anglers on the lake!
Anyway, set up by around 8 am, 13ft specialist match rod with 6lb straight through to a size 16 hook baited with Double maggot to start with.
Sprayed ina couple of dozen maggots and eruptions hit the water, Not this again i thought, Rudd of around 3oz each hitting the maggots on the surface!

I decided that the maggot would have to be a back up plan if things went slow and therefore switched to sweetcorn and meat on the hook feeding 3mm pellets hoping the carp and bream will get their heads down!
First cast on meat resulted in a roach of around 4 oz but this wasnt a trend as the next bite was a bream of about 1lb, Not bad I thought as my dad was soon into tench!

Cutting a long story short, The session went really well with bream and tench and a few crucians all of around 1-2lb were hitting the net!
All the decent carp were on the surface but decided not to bother there sunbathing, although two youths did come witht he bread but nothing came of it!
Packed up with a good 20lb esitimeate in each net and a big smile on both of our faces, we will definitley be going back there!

Sorry no pictures, will be sure to get some when i next return!
Michael!
