Taking the girls fishing.

Staffs Worcester Stourbridge again.

Went there because a. it's free and b. I wasn't sure how long they'd last.

I set Amy (6) up with a waggler on 4 sections of pole.
Molly (8) got my float rod and yet another waggler and I threw out a bit of sweetcorn under a float leger.

My excuse for not catching was that I was trying to help the girls fish for the first time so was paying attention to what they were doing.

Amy started off not wanting to go anywhere near the maggots and not too kean. One small roach later that all ended and she was up for it.

Molly had to wait a few more minutes before she got going .

Amy ended up with 9 fish, roach and gudgeon and Molly with 8, roach, gudgeon and a perch or two. Some of the roach were getting worth a look in too.

As for me , not a sausage not even a bite but as I wasn't really fishing myself it didn't bother me.

The upshot of all this is that we now have two more anglers in the world and now they are asking mum "when can we go fishing again". Gives Kim a break and being the doting husband and father that I am , I'll just have to give in to all that pressure and take them.

I love it when a plan comes together.

Re: Taking the girls fishing.

females always catch more fish, you have condemned yourself to a life of
" What have you caught today Dad? We had LOADS of fish!"

But well done on getting them out there.

Re: Taking the girls fishing.

It's great to see the girls having fun fishing, give it a short while and they will be showing you how it's done.

Re: Taking the girls fishing.

Excellent and well done. More reasons to invest in even more tackle!

Re: Taking the girls fishing.

Sounds like a great fun day fishing, Reminds me of the days when I first started taking my son and daughter; the daughter often caught more than us boys, but we were after the bigger ones (well that was our excuse anyway)
