| Opening Days on the Parret As usual, I started the season on the River Parret about a mile downstream of Langport. It looks lovely but the fishing was dire. All I managed was a few very small Rudd trotting single maggot on a size 18. A dog-walker told me there had been a lot of dead fish in the river a week or so before and the Environment Agency were attributing the loss to the heavy rain washing some form of pollutant off the nearby Moor. If that's correct it the second time it's happened in the last few years. Today saw me on a higher stretch of the river. It fished much better on my preferred worm and caster feeder. A very disappointing opening day was compensated for today and I think it's three more species for the SW Duo please. No fishing tomorrow as I'm off to Edgbaston to sit in the rain (or Bar) all day! Tight Lines to all. __________________ Rich "If a thing's worth doing it's worth doing to excess!" |

| Re: Opening Days on the Parret Sorry to hear about that. That shouldn't happen if it's happened before . Once is bad enough but twice is unforgivable. |
