RIVER CARRON @ larbert viaduct

hi folks i know there isnt much trout mentioned on here so i hope im not frowned upon , but i went fishing tonight at 6 ish down the road , found a few good swims , then headed under the viaduct at 9 ish .....

anyway , pulled out a brown trout at 3/4 lb and another at 1lb out a small pool just off the current on the worm and a ssg shot , just cast into the flow and let it follow the current to the pool, had lots of bites and snags , still not got the time to strike correct so i held the excitment till it took it itself ,

i will take pictures of the trout for you guys tomorrow , sadly it was to dark , and it was hard to see the line never mind take pics ...

the carron is 18 miles long , £7 daily permit , £42 for season , and £18 season for juvinile

heres the fish , by the way hi highly recommend "STREN" hi-vis gold line , which i switched to after the sun wend down , it enabled me to see my line under the dark viaduct , amazing to look at when the clear was invisible , also the knots were good when tied with it ,

Re: RIVER CARRON @ larbert viaduct

Hi,

That looks like a lovely river and two great fish. I am just back yesterday from my Duke of Edinburgh Mountain walk in the mourne mountains and nearly all the rivers had large numbers of small trout and some bigger like the size of yours. Also the dams and resevoirs that i passed also contained a good head of trout by the number of fish surfacing.

yup , the local central scotland rivers are great the now , at the weir i counted 20 sea trout jumping in the space of 15 mins just watching !!

4 trout from the same place this week for me !! still no sign of a sea trout or salmon tho , fingers crossed !!
