| There two parts to this report. Part One: I arrived on at Crockerton on Saturday morning to find that I had the lake to my self, and considering that the club has now got over 130 members I was a little surprised. I choose peg two, which was the same peg that Ian fished on the following Monday. I also choose to fish the pole and I also fished with meat. However my main quarry was roach and good quality roach at that. The day was very bright and a tad warm, this brought the Carp to the top, but having nothing to fish for them on the surface all I could do was admire them. ![]() I fished from 8am to 1:30 and with the Roach I also caught a nice Bream ![]() With the Bream and the Roach I weighed in at 13lb 7ozs, the Bream was 3lb 4oz, so I had a nice bag of Roach of 10lb. ![]() As I finished a packed up I went for a walk and took a nice picture of the lake through the trees. ![]() Part Two: I arrived at the lake at 14:00 as with Saturday I was the only one there, I choose peg seven this time and I decided to fish my Barbel rods and fish on the deck. I used meat on one rod and a Boillie on the other rod. I too had a visitor like Ian did on Monday ![]() At around 14:45 about five minutes before Ian arrived I hooked into a nice fish, the strength of the fish was amazing, I managed to land the fish as Ian turned up, a nice Common of around 10lb. ![]() At around 5:30ish my Boillie rod screamed off, I stuck into a good fish, however the fish kited to my left and it managed to snag me, I was working the fish out of the snag when my other rod screamed off, this rod was right next to a snaggey area, so I put down the first rod and open the bail arm so the fish could take line, struck into the other rod. This fish came out of the snag and swam straight into another, I slowly started to gain ground when to fish rose to the top, a very nice Tench, and I hate to say looked bigger than PB, then twang my hooked pulled. I started to laugh at this point, so back to my other rod I wound in the slack line and I was still attached and the fish had come out of the snag. I managed to get the fish in very close, and you have guessed it, the hook pulled. Ohh well that’s fishing, but I shall be back. __________________ "The muscles of 20 men, and the brains of 20 mussels", |
