my fruity balls helped me lose a type of virginity

Well what a lovely eve I have just had

Went to shillingford for the twilight session
Got there about 4.30 and headed up to top pond, set up quickly in left hand swim on front bank( sorry TJ I know you wanted this swim but was too tempting with all the fish moving about infront )



With all the arum lilies out this is a really pretty place to fish



Tyson arrived about 10 minutes later just in time to help me land my first fish, a pretty common at 6 1/2lb caught on good old luncheon meat



TJ went off up the left side and was soon into his first fish ( sorry not sure on sizes of his fish or baits)



I then had a nice mirror on sweetcorn( either this or common was needed for hunt so got some points now



Now the rules at shillingford have now changed and boilies are allowed, so now as I wasn’t blanking and still with no faith in boilies( as never caught on them yet) I put on a tutti fruiti boilie with a small bag of pellet and sent it out to end my boilie virginity

In less than 10 minutes Bingo

My first Boilie caught fish( unfortunately a rather battered common with damaged mouth, there are unfortunately a few like this in here )



Tj moved down my way into the corner and we baited up an area between us, soon there were bubbles everywhere from the tench and we both tried float fishing for them, I eventually managed a small one, but it was so frustrating as the water was boiling

Then again the boilie rod went off and another common at about 4lb, and after recasting withing 5 minutes it went again, wow that was now a hatrick for the boilies( sorry pics were poor)

And to add insult to injury after “nicking” Tj,s swim i managed 2 more feisty fish of 5lb and my best fish a 9lber to finish,



although TJ did manage a tench that looked rather carp like at the death

So that was 5 boilie caught fish,and 3 normal so I now have faith in these smelly balls at last
a cracking eve, left just before gates locked at 10, and all for £4
