Talking picnic by the pond

well after a horrid week of nights and really not seing too much of family today after some serious sleep till 11 , it was a family day

so after shopping trip to keep kids and Mrs P happy it was home about 4.30

on going home i suggested a "nice place " to go for an eve picnic

and would you believe it low and behold it was next to somewhere to fish Kia ora ponds to be precise, so it was rude not to take a rod or 2

set one up on the bottom with luncheon meat and float fished other again with that big old trotting float and maggot for kids and Mrs

the expectant bunch( mrs P sorting out the tangled line on float rod ,thank youwell she has got the nails to do it with)

after a very short while ( first cast on float rod) a shreak from mrs p shes got a fish and a little perch( no pic as took ages to unhook)

soon after she gets a rudd( as you can tell shes not too sure about it)

then the bottom rod went off for daughter and son and a nice tench
then a pretty common carp to me for points

mrs p now took charge of that rod as she was happy hooking luncheon meat, and not the maggots( that was my job)

then i had the float rod and managed a couple of pretty and fiesty crucian

and eventually a tench for myself

the rudd were in plague proportions by then and hitting floated bait as soon as in water
but we had had a lovely couple of hours in sun

cracking eve

not sure Mrs P understands fishing still but hey

Re: picnic by the pond

A massive well done to the family Ping. Looks like a top way to spend a couple of hours.

Tell me though, how exactly did you get away with the Picnic at Kia ora excuse????

Ladies and gentlemen of the forum, I'm sure you'll agree, that is truly deserving of a special merit award for demonstration in how to gain a pass.

Sir, I doff my cap to you.

Re: picnic by the pond

Totally agree! Top quality "blagging a few hours" and what's more you all caught fish.

Great report and well done.
