| Went for a long weekend at Finlake Holiday Park, which has two adjoined fishing lakes on site. http://http://www.finlake.co.uk/ This Park has different accommodation on site, including Lodges and caravans. Some were private, but let by Hoseasons. We were lucky and got a Private caravan, which had excellent facilities. Managed to fish about four hours on both lakes. Most swims were new and very safe. I mainly fish for larger species, so found it hard to gather some gear together, for the smaller ones! Went into Newton Abbot and found 2 tackle shops which were both helpful. Tackle Trader had the most stock, and sold bait. Asked for advice and was told that the Cruician carp, had been classified as Brown Goldfish. ![]() On my first cast had this lovely Bream (First ever in fact). ![]() Then it was continuous, with Mirror Carp, ![]() Rudd, and more bream. ![]() No elusive Brown Goldfish. All were caught using Red Maggot, float fished, without splitshot (left at home). No one else fished all weekend. A good place to catch up on different species! |
