| Rubber Roach fetish....... Hi again all, Grabbed a couple of mornings at Hoe Mill this week, been a bit tricky to get out, despite having a week off! Anyway, I feel I must extole the virtues of Rubber Roach, I have become a complete and utter devotie of these slippery devils. They have consistantly produced sport on every outing, nothing very big, but its amazing that a 1 1/2 lb Jack can fit a 6" Rubber Roach in its mouth with no quarms whatsoever! Managed 4 Jacks over the two visits up to about 4lb and several exciting follows & aborted takes that failed to connect (I know the big girls are in there & I want to meet one). Still have investigated about two miles of river with a rod, a net & a bag & thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Met some very nice & knowledgable people & sitting on the river a first light this morning with a beautiful Kingfisher whipping round the river calling cannot be beaten. Also managed to catch up with a good freind who now lives in the Lock keepers cottage (very handy & very welcome tea & company this morning during the rain). I can honestly say that I have not enjoyed myself more for quite some time & i'm well & truly hooked (excuse the pun!) Possibly one more visit before the end of the season & who knows......  Re: Rubber Roach fetish....... Glad to hear that you've been having some fun with the pike Nic. I've had a couple of good sessions using rubber fish baits myself. The only problem was that the pike kept biting their tails off... | Re: Rubber Roach fetish....... A flying treble sounds a good idea Greenheart. The lures I use are made by Storm & did have a treble at the base beneath the single, but I removed them as they kept catching the weed. A treble flying fixed to the top single to around the end of the tale could also help with some of the abortive takes & follows I keep getting.
