Bananas to Mummy Bag- slip – splat – fish- 1 ½ points

I managed to finish work fairly early last Friday. And as it was quite mild I made my mind up to make last Friday the first night of the year. Of I set to my local lake of Crockerton, as many of you know I do like to fish there and have had some good days.

I arrived at 4pm and I was hoping to be the only one there. However, that was not to be the case, two young lads wee already there and fishing, they informed me that they were there for the night.

It took me about an hour to get myself ready and casted out. As the night fell I settled for the evening, switched on the TV laid down on my bed chair and watched Channel 4 {The only channel I could get} I Know “what do you mean a Telly” Well it gave me something to do. as the evening progressed and I fed the swim and re-casted the baits, I settled down for the night by crawling into my new untested sleeping bag, and to my horror it was shaped the same as a mummy bag, and being a large Chap {alright a fat Bast**D} I found the sleeping bag a little tight and uncomfortable. Hey ho, I did manage to drop off to be ruddily awoken by my bite alarm. I charged out of my Bivvy dressed only in my Boxers and Tee-shirt, only too fall flat on my face straight into an area of mud, well after standing up and cursing I did manage to land the fish that had so rudely awoken me. A Common of 8lb.

On returning the fish I spent the 30 mins cleaning myself down. By the time I got back into bed I was freezing. It took an age to warm up. The rest of the night went by without incident. One thing though on my Fantastic belly dive into the Mud, I had twisted my Knee and when I awoke the next morning I found that my knee was on fire, I tried to carry for the rest of the day and I even missed two more runs, but by lunch time I couldn’t put up with pain any more and went home.

5 days later my knee is starting to ease but it did manage to swell to the size of a Cricket ball.

Boxer's & Tee-shirt, too much information mate.... I trust you won't be indulging in such exhibitionism when we go to France? LOL Nice carp though mate. Is it blushing?
