| White post lake banana Steve's day After waking up late and rushing around to pick up Ian and with the weather looking like it was going to be a brute of a day, I wasn’t looking forward to the trip. However, on arrival to lake the weather was pleasantly not too bad, A little grey but dry and warm for the time of year. On approach to the lake we saw that the wind was blowing from the east, and Mike had located himself on the lower lake, so after popping down to see him we decided that we would join him and fish with the wind to our backs. I decided that I would fish the waglar again, as last time produced some nice fish, and fishing for species hunt I thought that this may be the better option as I could reach the far bank with ease, and hopefully catch there if things became hard. So starting with a size 20 B911 barbless hook with double maggot, my first cast produced to my enjoyment a lovely crucian carp of around 10oz’s ![]() Over the following ½ hour I managed another 6 Crucians, a small roach and two perch. ![]() The bites at this points slowed down and I was getting a bite every five minutes or so. After 3hrs I had another 10 Crucians and I noticed that Ian was having a few fish mainly Rudd and Mike had started to catch the odd carp. Ian informed me that he was going to fish sweet corn for which this produced two carp straight away. However, my bites were not as frequent as they were at the start. I was still however, hooking the odd fish. At around 2:30ish I hooked into a good size pasty on catching the carp I noticed the very orange ting to its body and the head had the ghost Kio look to it. ![]() The next cast produced another Orange carp, this one was slightly bigger and longer. To start with, I thought I had hooked the same fish as before. ![]() As the afternoon progressed I caught only one more fish, the best fish of the day for myself and lovely Crucian of 1lb and 1oz. I was well chuffed. ![]() I enjoyed the day with both Mike and Ian and the drink at the end of the day was very enjoyable as well. And considering that I wasn’t looking forward to the day, things didn’t turn out that bad. A Few piccy’s from the day. Ian open some brown crumb for his feeder. ![]() Mike baiting up ![]() Me with my orange carp ![]() __________________ Born to fish made to work |

| Re: White post lake banana Steve's day Well done Steve.....looks like you all had a good day after all and a few species for your hunt. The ones where you feel like not to do, usually turn out to be the one of the better ones. __________________ There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind." - Washington Irving |
