Re: Doctors Orders

Well done - pity about the state of the fish, but you can only catch what's there.

I don't pretend to know all the answers, but remember a day (one August about 15 years ago) at a famous carp lake that normally has quite clear water (not too many carp) Carp were jumping, and I climbed a tree near them to get a better view.

What was happening was that the carp jumped out, then turned the re-entry into a crash-dive to the bottom, where they plunged their head into the mud - obviously feeding (almost certainly on bloodworm which were very prolific there).

I watched this happening for a good twenty minutes, until the mud stirred up by this behaviour obscured my view. I know it was August, and it would be much warmer than now, but carp should still be after bloodworm at this time of the year.

at least I was following Doctors orders!
"keep casting the maggots" sounds much better medical advice than "keep taking the tablets" You have a good doc there - did she prescribe beer as well?

Hope your convalescence goes well, medically and piscatorially
