| just had a beast!!! Hi all i have been fishing an old lake in surrey, the lakes about 8 acres with only 17 old wise engilsh carp, there are 40 members and a waiting list for those that want to join up,I was lucky enough to dodge the waiting list and have now been fishing the lake on and off for the last month,i work just up the road from the lake so have been doing the odd back to worker and most saturday nights , I got lucky about 2 weeks ago when i bagged a blind carp of 26lb   you can see its eyes are white dawn on the surrey lake  Right now for the beast, i decided on doing monday night and tuesday this week i would get to the lake about 6ish and would be able to get the rods out for twelve hours before leaving for work at 7 am well the monday night passed with no action to report, I got back to the lake after work on tuesday abit earlyer and so i got the rods out made a tea and sat back and watched the lake for a while, a couple of fish where topping out in the center of the lake no,where near any of my baits , so i reeled a rod in and cast out to where the fish had been showing, baited the area with about 30 freebies , sat back kettle back on and watched the lake some more as the light was fading i could still make out some movment out in the middle, happy with where the baits was i got my head down with the alarm set for 6 as thats when it gets light enough to watch the lake some more. Well at about 5 am i was woken by a slow take on my middle rod struck and could fell a heavy fish on the other end, it did not do to much just plodded about for a bit and when it got to tweenty yards range where it decided to start trying to spit the hook rolling on the line and shacking its head on the surface, I got it in the net and was plesently surpised to see a huge carp at the bottom of it, It turned out to be the biggest fish in the lake and went 43lb on the scales   As you can amagin one was over the moon, speaking of moons i think it was a new moon on tuesday night!!! well there is another 40 lber in the lake so i will keep at it for another month or so and then it will be time to get the sea rods out again,      |
