| it seems an age since i have last posted a report! but now thanks to technical issues sorting out and the holidays i am back!!! ive just been in the lakes for a week, and well, a week with all of that tantalising water right in front of your face and not fishing it? dont think so ! so i went down to the lakeshore nearly every night for a spot of fishing...not much variety of species, yet one that we havent caught yet..PERCH! one of my favourite fish with the green markings and the blood red fins then the big majestic sail fins, and their aggressive predator attitude and the strong jaggy fights...love em and when you get a decent one...lets just say you know about it!anyway! setup was as simple as it gets...best way to do it...single SSG and a section of chopped lobworm...dangle it over the side...and literally (seriously) watch the perch through the pristine crystal clear water of about 6-7 ft attack your worm and eat it and then fight when they are hooked...and 9 times out of ten...spit it out! or come off at the surface...but we did manage to get a few...and it was the most fun i had had in a long time...because you could actually see the perch take and run...the jetty we were stood on literally had around 40- 50 perch just swimming in and out of the stanchions, just picking up scraps of food left by human activity and no doubt chasing all of the minnows, which were everywhere! anyway...enough of my poetic babble about my love for the lakes! pictures!! The Biggest One (4 or 5 ounces? )![]() Where We Fished (a bit dark lol) I Was Talking About Tantalising... ![]() ![]() ![]() The river at Slaters bridge, in the langdale valley, running out of Little Langdale Tarn...me and dad REGRETTED noe bringing a rod with us on this bit of hiking the tarn itself (a rise somewhere on it wherever you looked at any moment in time!) ![]() __________________ "Alright Jack, we all ready to fish?"
