| getting harder to get points, trouting on dartmoor as suddenly found had a free daytoday so headed of to venford resevoir on dartmoor near ashbuton in search of points again a fantasticly relaxing place where as long as you have a rod licence you can fish for free for the wild brown trout(can at meldon near oakhampton as well) and you may see 2 or 3 other people all day, I just love dartmoor and with fishing added in cant be bad. there are only a few places that it is possible to get a rod out due to the trees but as was only peron there no problems watched the buzzards, wrens, dipper, great crested grebe, odd military jets and helicopters flying about and watched the cormorants nesting in the trees opposite was a top morning fished 10 - 1.30 when a fantastic thunderstorm rolled in, (missed a twister which formed apparently over the hils ahead  also unfortunately missed loads of bites and failed to land the 3 fish i did have on (going to use barbed next time ) what a shame i shall have to go back   heres a few pics    __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |
