Estate Lake for the Species Hunt 3/5/07

Decided to award myself a day off as Mrs L is on her annual spending spree at Badmington today and I couldn't face the prospect of me working and her not. Also, I'm still trying to justify my participation in the Species Hunt, and failing miserably in the sea.
I decided to go to an Estate Lake. I have to apologise at this point for the Secret Squirrel stuff as the Club that has the fishing rights expressly forbids Members from publicising catches. Should be OK, I hope, as long as I don't name it.
Anyway, as soon as Mrs L drove off I raided the horse feed for one of my groudbait additives.

Also in the picture is another additive, dead red maggots. I bag a half pint or so and hide them in the bottom of the freezer. They're dead when they come out and adding them to the groudbait mix is easier than sandwiching live ones in a feeder. Dead ones don't bury themselves in the bottom, and look a bit more like bloodworm to me.

I was fishing from a platform and as it was too windy to rely solely on the tips I used "swingers" on my old carp pod.

As usual I started off with small Skimmers and Rudd. Both new species for the hunt though.

Then things started getting better

even Mr Tench put in an appearance

All in all a terrific days sport and another contribution to the hunt. Bream, Skimmer and Rudd. Is this the right way to seek recognition of them though or should I do something through the Hunt section as well/instead?
