| Crockerton Lake on a guest ticket Had a relaxing day at Crockerton Lake with Steve. It is his club water and he treated me to a guest ticket. we met up at 7 am and were quickly set up and fishing. Very rapidly I had a tench taken on a snowman boillie and paste, my only one of the day ![]() here is a view of the lake ![]() the lake has another side that belongs to a garden centre, a net separates them but at some time some of the carp have escaped and gone tame in the other lake, they swarm to the surface as you approach. The shot is not very good as I did not have a polarised lens on the camera ![]() I managed a few good bream, as the carp did not want the boillies, the bream were happy to take them ![]() Along with perch, hybrids and rudd I managed a good few of these elusive little devils, ![]() As I have had roach that everyone has said were rudd before I got Steve to Identify this one, and took a close up of the head to be sure. ![]() here are a few more to be sure, ![]() to be sure ![]() to be sure ![]() I did also manage to catch a few trees, even leaving a cage feeder hanging in the branches, but Steve kindly salvaged it with a long handled landing net. So a very relaxed and chilled day with good company and finally those 1.5 points for the roach |

| Re: Crockerton Lake on a guest ticket Crockerton lake is a great place to fish, I've been a member of the controlling club, Warminster, some nice tench, to around 7lb, good bream, pleanty of silver fish, big perch and carp to around 30lb. THe silver fish ensure you will always catch even in the winter, well there will be times when the lake might be frozen. Worth joining, get a ticket from Steves Tackle in Warminster. As a newbie, I hope its OK to mention shops and clubs on here. £35 a season, other lakes plus exchange tickets too. |
