| lime kilns exeter canal 30/3/7 went down to lime kilns again today 2.30pm-8pm looking for and geared up for pike on arrival met a couple (on right hand of main bank)who had been there from early and had had 1 jack early and nothing since, so i headed off to bend and sent baits out to either end of moored boat cracking afternoon with few showers but in sunny bits was lovely teeshirt weather also few butterflies and blossoms so springs definately on way now   well it was far too quiet untill 6 pm when loads of fish started topping, even some big bream rollong and carp showing and i had a sreamer of a take on left hand rod with a whloe makkie, skillfully missedit as ever and brought in 1/2a makkie skillfully bitten through on angle to miss all trebbles  gave up just before 8 aas nothing happening on walk back couple had managed another poike about 5lb on spinner and and just to rub it in 2 guys who were setting up at 5 had had 2 jacks about 5lb each on sweetcorn on meathod feeders + good tench think its time to put away pike gear and swap over to carp/tench/bream tactics( then i may get a pike  )good afternoon otherwise  dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |
