Ugly stick Gold 30 - 50LB

Help please !

Looking to purchase a new boat rod for my birthday and thought Id try the uglysticks. The newest one is the uglystick gold 30 - 50 class.

Looking to use it for local wrecks, pollacking and congering - would this be a good purchase in your opinion ?

Any thoughts would be great thanks

Nothing wrong with uglysticks mate althought 30 - 50lb its a bit of a stick and you could use one lighter and have much more fun

would'nt go much above 30lb for UK waters unless you are fishing for Skate or Halibut...

I mistakenly got an Ugly Stik 50lb,as the name suggests,A STIK

There is a fladen out that gets progressively more powerful as the pressure is applied but I forgot the name.ie if you get a little one it is just tip action and the heavier the fish the further down the rod the power is.I think it's rated 10-50 to give a clue to the power range.

you'll have some fun Tommy, bass and pollock go well on 20lb gear, as for conger.... hook a fifty, boat it, release, and rest while you reflect on the fight it gave you.

Thanks Jon - Ive had a couple of 30 pounders last year on 20lb gear and I was nakered doing that so a 50 would be great.
