| Re: which laquer for rods Ping, automotive stuff might be too hard/brittle!! Try to find this stuff...Flex-coat: http://www.flexcoat.com/ My buddy and I use it almost exclusively. Now, granted I've only made 2 rods, but, he's made Dozens. ps. if you can beg/borrow/steal a plain old rotisserie motor from a grill, it can be rigged up as a drying motor w/gr8 result. (any SLOW motor-less than 20 rpm) pps. thread "color preserver" is just acrylic floor finish. (any SLOW motor-less than 20 rpm) QUOTE] Sounds like the same thing some of the lure building guys use to dry the epoxy finish on their hand crafed lures. In fact, that might work quite well for you mate. I've got quite a bit of Devcon 2 ton epoxy sat in my garage (For when I actually get round to finishing some of the lures I've made) If you can't find a rotisserie motor, maybe try to grab the turntable motor from a microwave. BUT BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU RIP IT OUT! There's some heavy duty capacitors in them things which could give you a bit oif a nasty shock if you poke the wrong thing. __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check.
