| Guys, I know there are some good Sea fishing publications around (I normally buy them twice a year before my Sea fishing holidays) but..... Anglers Mail have really dropped off in deciding to remove a whole area of fishing from the mag. I used to look forward to reading Mike Thrusells's rig tips and the venue reports. I've aired my thoughts by letter, but don't expect it to printed Surely there was plenty of room for the 3 good pages - or maybe they needed space for more rubbish advertising - Rant over What do you guys think? | Re: Anglers Mail drops Sea Fishing??? i've sent my complaint in,i'm not much of a sea angler any more but those 2 or 3 pages were interesting , we might as well call the weeklies " coarse angling times " and " coarse anglers mail " they are not doing themselves any favours, they will surely lose sales over this ![]() |

| Re: Anglers Mail drops Sea Fishing??? i used to bye it as a cheap comic, very micky mouse! found i could read the sun, mirror, and anglers mail in an hour lunch break! havnt brought a mag for carp/course or sea in the last 2 years arfter discovering the net! and for the sea mags why spend nearly a fiver on advertisments and lots of pretty pics of catching codling off the west scotish coast or wrasse from cornish rocks, when in 5 mins off tapping away i can find out up todate info on my home turf! __________________ SCUPPER A COMMERCIAL TOOOO DAY! |

| Re: Anglers Mail drops Sea Fishing??? All, here is the response to my moan to AM - wonder if they will print it? "Dear Barrie, thank you for your e-mail regarding the sea section in Angler's Mail. The regular sea pages will no longer appear, due to space and the need to increase the focus on coarse angling. The angling media has changed and split greatly over the years, with more and more specialist titles, and to stay competitive Angler's Mail needs to focus on where the main weekly audience is, and that is coarse fishing. We will occasionally have some sea stories and features, but not on a regular basis. Reader research, mainly through a survey printed in the magazine, has told us that the sea pages are consistently the least popular pages. We are also responding to the fact that most readers would like to see more emphasis on other contents which have been in the mag already, or should be included. We aim to please everybody, but sadly that has never been possible, and never will be....unless we had many more pages, and then we'd have to charge a lot more money. The package of authoratitive new features we have introduced, and better paper quality, has already brought many kind words - which suggests the new material is impressing people. I hope this answers any questions, and I thank you for your loyalty to the title. I'd like to think you still consider £1.40 to be exceptional value for a sports/hobby weekly magazine. Regards, Tim Tim Knight Editor, Angler's Mail magazine IPC Media Ltd" |
