Re: Abu c 3000

if it has made in sweden stamped on the side of it, its in good nick and the clutch feels good , id say buy it at the right price , its ideal for the sort of boat fishing you and me will do this year
i have 2 of them and thay are brilliant reels
but i also have one of the ones made in tiawan, and biuld quality is somethink to be avoided thay are crap,
has anyone else noticed????

if i rember right the version to avoid is the abu 'seven' , as opposed to 7000,
these had black side plates and were cheaper with definately poorer build quality.

c3 sounds ok, but like all, condition is important.

Yes, I posted on an Abu 10000 a couple of years ago made in the far east.
Total RUBBISH! until they get the build quality and they're old standards back avoid them.

afraid not , thay do make some of all the models in tiewan now, and thay are total crap, the main probs i had with mine was the was the free spool mechanism spring comeing out of the cheap plastic plate inside, also i found that the cogs are made from plastic as well,
its such a shame that abu insist on useing cheap parts to cut cost,
i would happly pay more for the old quality

thats sad to hear, i've not owned a 7000 for about 8years ,but a pair were in the family for about 20years these were the old version (reds) from about 1980 the only plas cogs i can remember in them were the level line drive .
they were still going strong when i sold them on.
