Re: A decent 18lb mono

I agree w/Fisherdan.....Trilene XL(xtra limp) has been my "go to" line for years. XT(xtra tough) for abrasion resistance. Cabela's -- Berkley Trilene XL® Smooth Casting Line
I tried Cajun Line a few years ago and I like it alot too. "Red Cast" is similar to XL and "Red Lightenin' " is like XT. Products / Cajun Line

Re: A decent 18lb mono

Usually only used for leader here. I very seldom need that heavy. Cabela's -- Sunset Amnesia Shooting Line

Re: A decent 18lb mono

Yep - sorry assumed .....
A snood is a term for a hook length, you have the main rig body (normally 60lb strain) which you connect to the mainline (normally 15lb) via a swivel - a lead link (sinker) at the bottom and the hook lengths in between connected by swivels to the rig body in numerous ways and set ups for different fish & conditions.
The hook lengths or snoods need to be quite stiff to prevent tangles - amnesia is ideal !
