| Re: Help Needed Hmmm, just looked at the makes of all my rods and will admit I do have a lot. Err 32 in my fishing room and lots in the shed. i have 2 ron Thomson rods and for some reason have never been kind of right with them. they look ok and are finished quite well....no groan but haven't had the confidence you need when fishing with them. no real reason but they don't have the catch and feel confident factor that I need when fishing. maybe I just live to near to Glastonbury? cheers jules. __________________ born to fish....forced to work |

| Re: Help Needed whats the bite detection like on an axcellerator? or from what ive heard, a similar rod with a stiff backbone and tip. one of the main things i was worried about was not being able to detect bites with it, like say a little whiting or something __________________ "Alright Jack, we all ready to fish?" | Re: Help Needed I'm going to stick up for RT as well - I use a 14' & 15' X-Symmetry rod(s) - had them for just about a year now - I think they are great rods, never had any problems with them, brought in loads of fish - some sizeable as well, they have coped with masses of seaweed, snagged rigs, huge tides - all without compaint. Only problems - I set of broken rings after the rod was dragged off the rod rest & 2 tip rings - not bad IMHO for "cheap rubbish" ! No doubt there is better out there, but for £50 - a real value for money rod - I would love to spend £300 on a PENN or GREYS super duper rod but are they really worth all that extra money ? For a beginner or those on a budget - gotta be worth considering RT gear ... Off my soapbox now ... |
