stupid question..

well i am thinking of getting a multiplier for christmas, i had a multiplier ( non level wind ) and it fited perfect with my fixed spool rod, but i want a level wind multiplier for my beach caster... but i dont know if it will fit in, ive seen beach casters for multipliers and was wondering why i could'nt use my fixed spool beach caster.

thanks.

Re: stupid question..

most reel fittings will take both types of reel .

rod ring spaceing is the thing. as f/s rods tend to have fewer rings spaced wider apart,
as a test fit on you f/s reel and turn it and the rod upside down (so the rings face up). get some one to flex the rod to see if the line touches the blank between the rings when flexed, if it does the rings are a bit far apart for multiplyer use .

Re: stupid question..

Dan,

I have an Abu 6500 CS CT (with levelwind), if you want to have a try of it before buying it, I will have it with me at Magazine Lane on Saturday night, I don't use it often (and won't be on Saturday) as I prefer them without the levelwind (seem to get a lot less bird's nests).

So if you want to try it for the evening it's all yours.
