| Sandeels Has anyone had any real success with frozen sandeel - I have tried these regulary with very little result, I thought they were the dogs for catching - or is it just me ?     |

| Re: Sandeels I find they will catch the same as mackerel but just give better bait presentation 1 of my fav baits as they will catch a nice variety __________________ |

 Re: Sandeels Cut off the head & tail with a pair of bait scissors to allow the juices to flow. Thread a fine wire hook through the tail end & back out about 3cm further down, then lash the hook on nearer the head with bait elastic so the point stays exposed. I use good quality Ammo blast frozen ones. Keep em in a cool bag to keep them fresh. Stale mushy ones are useless. Great bait for Bass & Rays. | Re: Sandeels Agree with greenheart When hooking if you find it slips down easy then try bringing the hook out halfway down the eel, pull the hook fully through and put the hook through the hole you made in the middle and thread it on then bait elastic it Will help stop it from sliding down and will let out more scent Well if you understand what i mean that is lol __________________ |

| Re: Sandeels we had a lot of fish on sandeel this year on the boat including a 10lb bass.the way i use them is thread the hook through the mouth and out just behind the gill and then go backin through the same hole 2 thirds down the body and whip with bait elastic plugger  __________________ if at first you dont succeed buy a boat. peter |
