Prawns as bait

Hi,

As a novice to sea fishing I wondered what the forums opinion was to cooked prawns as a sea bait, and if there are ok what particular type, I have some cooked tiger prawns in the freezer that are a bit past it for human consumption and wondered if they were any use in the bait box for my trip this weekend.

I was not planning on using a prawn cocktail or thousand island dressing, just the prawns!!!! lol

Mike

Re: Prawns as bait

Yep cooked ones are no good might get the odd fish on em but u need the ones that come from our shores

They are a great bait for all kinds of species and you never know what you could pull out of the sea when you use em

Whats the best way to present them? I'm thinking singularly and presented in exactly the same way as I would a maggot for freshwater fishing.
