next step could be trying to put penn points on the next event but we are still working on this.
the best thing is about this is we dont really have a prize structure, this will deter all the top rods from coming along and bagging up all the rods and the best prizes, i think we have a rod for 1'st,4'th,8'th,12'th16'th and 20'th , with a special rod for number 44. ( dont ask why 44 LOL ) we think it makes it more interesting in a format like this , as its for charity nobody minds as it is designed to be a fun event as well.
You want to deter all the top rods from coming along and bagging all the prizes.....AND you want to have Penn points!!!!!! Ha Ha never heard so much rubbish in my life!!! Honestly it's a great cause for this match - but trying to deter match anglers from winning prizes is not a good idea for running matches!!! No the wonder only 77 turned out - we had 99 in our last CLUB match!! I travel all over the country fishing matches, mostly pegged events, try and stay away from the big fish LOTTERY events, and if I thought I was maybe driving 5 or 6 hours to a match, to find out the organiser's were in fact trying to deter me from winning prizes - think I'd be a tad disappointed!
Good luck for next year!

Re: charity competition

up north

have you got some sort of reading lapse ??
if you notice the last line of the text that you so cleverly quoted me, it does say that this is supposed to be a fun event, by the sounds of it your 1 of those match anglers who has lost all the adranelin action out of fishing , maybe it was a good job that you didnt fish it !!!!!!
or help in any way in organising such event.
not really bothered about how many turned up , more bothered about how much money we raised on the night!!!!!!!!!
or is that beside the point?
we werent trying to deter any1 from winning anything as you so kindly think we were doing we were trying to raise some money for a great hospital on the north east.
obviously when the next event does happen im sure we cant count on your support.
