new reel

hi chaps,
just bought an abu bg7000 hs.just wondering what the little pip in the middle of the line shaft was for. is it for looping the line on or do you tie the line as normal. might sound daft but all the other reels i have bought it is not there.

Used to be on them all years ago,then was deleted,i think its only on the big games at the moment,makes it easier to tie the line loop on tho !

i agree it seems a lot easier to make a loop than tie it on to the shaft.have you been out today,we were planning to go but the wind was blowing a bit bit so e decided that tommorrow might be better.
