Hello
Well i use peices of guttering about 15inches long and stick them into the
river bank at a secrete part of my local river! I say secrete cause you
its best to keep the location to yourself unless you want to be there everyday
before they are uncoverd!! when you have a good lot of traps in the river
you should go and check them as often as posible as some people dont
push them back down in to the mud after they have done them and they
run the risk of being washed away!! I think the bast time to go up the rivers
crabing is when the crabs show up on the beach cause even know beach crabs
outfish the river crabs you do get more bait cause everyone is doing the beach!
Good luck if you go for it!

Hi Richard,

up here, we use old tyres, and sink them into the river bank, but if you do this, you must slash the tyres, because people make the drastic mistake of not doing this and when the tide covers them, they get washed away!
