| Great Place for Forum meet We were talking about having a forum meet at Seatown on the Dorset Devon border some time ago but decided not to go as no one knew the beach. Well I have fished it this afternoon and reckon it's perfect. It is about a mile long with a good sized car park in the middle, toilets, a cafe AND A PUB!!! The beach is much like Abbotsbury with small pebbles and is steeply shelving. At the western end there is a rocky headland and a reef that just screams bass. The centre section is clean ground and so many mack today that they could be caught with a kids fishing net. I reckon it's a top spot for a meet sometime, how about it!!! For those who do not know where it is, it's half way between Charmouth and West Bay in West Dorset. See you all down there sometime. | Re: Great Place for Forum meet i liked it there, cause i went uncle fossil'ing with my uncle, so when you wait for the fish, just walk behind you and go fossil hunting..lol, oh yer dont use mackerel for bait down there, soon as though i have been using there for ages and havnt caught anything... |

| Re: Great Place for Forum meet Hey Dan, who's Uncle Fossiling? Sorry, had to get that one in. I had a wrasse of about a pound at the end of the session which was a bonus. There were plenty of guys spinning down there and they were catching garfish along with the macks. We only really fished for mack as there were so many of them. I will be fishing there again this saturday if the weather is fine with a couple of friends, I'll remember to get some pictures this time. | Re: Great Place for Forum meet Hi guys, it is a lovely place to go to, and I'm sure the fishing is tops. Not wishing to pee on your strawberries but I spoke to some lads earlier this year and they stated that the car park is privately owned by the pub, and they point blank refused to allow people to park overnight. Don't know if that was a summer thing, as it was may/june time, but it would be worth making some enquiries if this is looking to take place. Regards, Darren |
