| reel maintenance I just required a second hand sea reel (hardly used), which needs a little attention as it has been idle for a couple of years. DO I grease or oil it and which grease/oil would be best....Don't want to ask in a tackle shop, as they only try to flog me the most expensive stuff. | Re: reel maintenance Sorry that reel does not ring a bell But things I do -- - Always service a reel on the kitchen table putting the bits into bowls - As you take off the bits lay them out in order , this way its easy to put them back on - If in worried I take pics of the reel as Im taking it apart - Oil I use rocket fuel - For degressing I use Light fuel ( not sure if that correct thought) - Us a dry cloth to clean , not tissue paper as it shreads Im sure others will chip in on how they service thier reels __________________ Richard|Sea Fishing |Carp Fishing| Spud Gun | Zander fishing | Fishing Reports | Hunting Reports |
