Rapala lure?

i went to a fishing shop to get some fishing grub, and i was mainly looking for the chug bug but i couldnt find it so i looked at the rapala ones. so i found this lure ( suspending & rattlin ) and i got it. went on there website and i found it was freshwater so that enoyed me. and i was wondering if that would catch any SALTWATER bass or fish. the website is

http://www.rapala.com/products/lures...shorsalt=Fresh

and click on CLN (clown) on the different colours)

if this wont catch bass i will look like a clown

thanks...

Re: Rapala lure?

as far as i'm concerned there are no hard and fast rules about lures being for one type of angling and not the other.
i have used many of my pike lures in he sea and have caught with some as well.
if a lure is capable of catching pike then it is capable of catching bass.

Re: Rapala lure?

I guess the only problem may be if the salt water affects the hooks/body etc.. (rust?)

Re: Rapala lure?

Try it out..........you may just discover the newest greatest method!!!

ps w/Rapala, The hooks may rust, but I'm fairly sure the eyes on the lure are stainless. If you don't keep ahead of the rust, just replace them.

Good luck

This is true, the Rapala lures use stainless hooks for sea fishing, but it is easy to change over on your lure to stainless as they attach with a split ring!

I have both the Baby Bass and Silver Husky jerk, Perch love them and I can see no reason why a nice big Bass won't go for them as well. If you don't want to change over to stainless just do as Paul said and wash them in plenty of fresh water when you get home.

Good luck the HJ is a really good lure!
